(8x,6)(8,6x) is the 7 object version of the siteswap (6x,4)(6,4x) where you alternate between doing a pair of throws from the pattern (8x,6)* and a pair of throws from (8,6x)*.

One hand throws all of the 8s, alternating crossing and non-crossing, while the other hand throws all of the 6s, alternating non-crossing and crossing throws, respectively. The non-crossing 8s are always done with the same object. The high throws should be about twice as high as the low throws.

You can switch to a continuous (8x,6)* or (8,6x)* pattern at any time, as long as you always alternate throwing two objects to the left and throwing two objects to the right. You can also transition in and out of the cascade the same way you would with one of those patterns.

Siteswap exercises[]

You can use these exercises to practice the same kinds of throws that are done in this pattern, before you learn the full pattern.

Some of the siteswaps listed below are shortened to leave out parts where you’re not doing anything. Click on them to see animations of the exercises.

You should practice doing these starting with your right hand and with your left hand, so that you will be ready to learn the full symmetrical pattern.

Prerequisites: (6x,4)(6,4x), (8x,6)*, (8,6x)*
